Join us for an unforgettable day trip to the magnificent Abu Simbel temples, departing from your hotel in Aswan. Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup by our representative, followed by a comfortable three-hour journey in an air-conditioned vehicle to the iconic site.
The Abu Simbel temples are renowned for their stunning architecture, featuring the impressive Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Nefertari, dedicated to the pharaoh’s beloved wife.
These remarkable structures were relocated during the construction of Lake Nasser to preserve them from submersion, thanks to a UNESCO campaign initiated in 1960.
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan early to start your tour.
You will be transported by sharing an air-conditioned car for approximately three hours to the site of the Abu Simbel temples.
Abu Simble Temple
The Abu Simble Temple is one of Egypt’s most impressive and spectacular buildings.
The temple consists of several temples, including the Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Nefertari, the pharaoh’s favorite wife.
However, during the construction of Lake Nasser, many Egyptian antiquities were lost beneath its waters.
The work of saving Nubian temples, such as those of Pharaoh Ramses II and his wife Nefertari in Abu Simbel, began in 1960 as a result of a UNESCO campaign.
Every year on February 22 and October 22, the world’s attention is drawn to Egypt’s extreme south, where the tourist city of Abu Simbel witnesses a unique astronomical event in which the sun embraces the face of King Ramses, a phenomenon that the ancient Egyptians personified thousands of years ago inside their ancient temples, embodying one of the greatest feats of engineering in Egyptian history.
After your tour, you will return to your hotel in Aswan by sharing car.
The journey from Aswan to Abu Simbel takes approximately 3 hours each way in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle shared with other travelers.
The tour usually starts early in the morning (around 4:00–4:30 AM) to ensure you arrive at Abu Simbel in time to explore before the midday heat.
The temples were carved into a mountain during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II (13th century BC) and are famous for their solar alignment phenomenon, when sunlight illuminates the inner sanctuary twice a year.
The Sun Festival occurs twice a year, on February 22 and October 22, when the sun’s rays illuminate the faces of Ramses II and the gods inside the temple’s inner sanctuary.
